Marking Women's History Month, State Assemblymember Laura Friedman honors Zonta Burbank's own Gloria Salas for her extraordinary impact on the community.
Gloria Salas is surrounded by Zonta members after accepting the Woman of the Year award on March 18, 2022.
Gloria is tireless in her leadership and her advocacy. Her service for women is inspiring. Laura Friedman (D-Glendale)
In a ceremony at Burbank City Hall, Salas was recognized for her exhaustive list of volunteer efforts in Burbank with Zonta and other organizations including St. Francis Xavier Church, Burbank For Armenia and the Burbank Human Relations Council. A past-president of the Burbank Zonta club, Salas has lead a comprehensive program of service and advocacy that includes raising awareness about human trafficking and gender violence, providing toiletries and supplies for unhoused women and many other projects all the while serving as area director and lieutenant governor for Zonta International's District 9.
