In a ceremony at Burbank City Hall, Salas was recognized for her exhaustive list of volunteer efforts in Burbank with Zonta and other organizations including St. Francis Xavier Church, Burbank For Armenia and the Burbank Human Relations Council. A past-president of the Burbank Zonta club, Salas has lead a comprehensive program of service and advocacy that includes raising awareness about human trafficking and gender violence, providing toiletries and supplies for unhoused women and many other projects all the while serving as area director and lieutenant governor for Zonta International's District 9.
