From November 25 to December 10, the Zonta Club of Burbank Area is proud to join the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence—a UN Women campaign uniting communities worldwide to end violence against women and girls. Throughout the 16 Days and beyond, we’re turning Burbank orange, sharing resources, and taking action together.
Burbank stands with us
On Tuesday, November 25, 2025, Mayor Nikki Perez presented a proclamation recognizing the campaign and supporting our efforts.
City landmarks—including City Hall and the Burbank Water and Power building—are illuminated in orange, the color of hope and a brighter future free from violence.
Why 16 Days of Activism matters here
Even amid celebration, the need is urgent. For example, at Burbank’s Holiday in the Park on Magnolia Blvd., two women visited our booth to ask for domestic violence resources. Gender-based violence isn’t distant—it’s here at home, and we’re here to help.
What “gender-based violence” means
Using UN Women’s definition, gender-based violence includes:
Intimate partner violence
Sexual violence and exploitation
Human trafficking
Forced and child marriage
Female genital mutilation
Other forms of physical and psychological harm against women and girls
Join the march
As part of our local 16 Days programming—and continuing our advocacy—the Zonta Club of Burbank Area will host the 4th Annual March Against Gender-Based Violence on Saturday, December 13, 2025. We’ll begin at the steps of the Burbank Police Department and conclude at City Hall in a powerful show of solidarity.
Date: Saturday, December 13, 2025
Route: Burbank Police Department to City Hall
What to wear: Orange
How you can help
Show up: March with us on December 13—bring friends, family, and colleagues.
Signal support: Wear orange and share this message to raise awareness.
Share resources: If someone needs help, connect them with local support services.
The Zonta Club of Burbank Area remains steadfast in advocating for and empowering women and girls. Join us during the 16 Days—and on December 13—to say clearly: violence has no place in Burbank.
